You're not the only one capable of erroneously draining pools. Even seasoned pool owners--like the one pictured on the left--can forget to replace one of the pipes after removing it for one reason or another.

Boy, you didn't waste any time showing my goof off to the world, did you. Anyways, I do look pretty skinny there. And also, It's good to drain the pool every couple of years to get the mineral content back down.

LOL!!! Q, I'm not upset. In fact, I'm lauging about it now. And honestly, I never heard you yell so loud in my life!!! At the time, I thought Jango had puked on the carpet or you were late for an early dial-in.
You'll be happy to know that Mother Nature is giving the hose a hand in refilling the pool. While it's not raining much, every little bit helps.
And yes, it is good to DRAIN the pool every few years, not let the pump shoot water through the disasembled piping and all over the yard.
I just hope this doesn't damage the citrus trees.
Yikes! So how many gallons is that and is the motor pump okay?
Ces, I'm guessing we lost between 7,500 and 8,000 gallons. The pool itself holds 8,800 and there was still water at the bottom.
We're not sure about the pump yet. We can't test that until the pool is filled back up (the hose has been going all day). In the meantime, all the electrical leading to the pool is turned off.
Oh, that's too bad.
But, that's a beautiful pool! Wish we had one.
Menchie, no you don't. While pools are beautiful, refreshing, and fun, they are costly beasts. In addition to chemicals, maintenance and electricity, the moving parts don't last all that long--usually about 5 years. And even the smallest parts are expensive. I once spent $20 to replace a tiny little plastic thingamig for the vacuum.
And I don't know the first thing about maintaining the pool. When Q was in the hospital, I hired a service to do it.
Oops..I sure miss having a pool..although way up here it is a very short season..however we do actually get HOT in the summer and we couldn't live without AC...
I know that sounds hard to believe but we do get high 80s+..even this far North. If you don't believe me ask my neighbour Mr. Claus.
