Top 40 radio was full of Salt n Pepa, Milli Vanilli, Kriss Kross, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, etc. It was around that time that I started listening to the classic rock station.

As for the schmaltzy AM pop (thanks for teaching me a new word, BTW), I simply grew up on that stuff. My parents always had the likes of Chicago, Neil Diamond, Christopher Cross, and Barry Manilow playing on their car radios...which only played AM stations.Ms. Valhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05708956305328177418noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25919723.post-34055497864622835982007-01-30T09:47:00.000-07:002007-01-30T09:47:00.000-07:00I am glad that I have teenagers because they expos...I am glad that I have teenagers because they expose me to a few interesting bands..I have spent years training them..my girls came of age during the 90s and all they got was boybands and remakes..tsk tsk..so I let them hear the original versions and voila it worked..they know exactly what I like.
I finally have my artists divided by decades so that I can whip up period pieces.
You what was interesting..for me anyway..I went to number One Hit Charts to bolster my position on modern music..anyway if you go back to the 70s (my era) an artist could have a number 1 Hit on the charts for weeks..zip ahead to last year and NOBODY gets more than one week at the top.Romeo Morningwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10826410608415260786noreply@blogger.com
